                  Family Education Programs

Our family education programs feature highly interactive and informative classes that help parents become more effective. Some classes include a children's component that teaches new skills to youngsters. Please call 804.642.5402 or 800.PREV550 for more information on which class may be most helpful to you.

Nurturing Parenting
Group sessions help families communicate better and establish a nurturing way of life. The program stresses the importance of empathy, self-awareness, anger management, effective discipline, bonding and attachment, and appropriate expectations.

Guiding Good Choices Parenting
This program uses videos, workbook exercises, and role playing to teach parents how to strengthen family bonds. It also helps parents learn how to establish the family's position on drugs and teaches children how to make healthy choices.

Children First
Children First helps parents learn how to: minimize the harm of divorce and constant conflict on children, talk with children about separation and divorce, manage conflict and emotions constructively, and co-parent in ways that provide the most benefit to the child or children. The Middle Peninsula Northern Neck Community Services Board
